Job Description:

To assist in all operational aspects to ensure the effective running of the bar and front of house delivering exceptional customer service by maintaining a high standard of professionalism.

▶ Read Key Duties & Responsibilities

General Operation

  • To support the Line Manager in the efficient and smooth running of the bar and front of house
  • Promote and maintain good working relationships throughout the operation as a whole
  • Ensure all operational tasks are completed safely and efficiently
  • To have a hands on approach to all tasks and to get involved as required i.e. cleaning duties
  • To maintain individual appearance according company standards

Sales & Stock

  • To be proactive in maximising sales and generating revenue
  • Understand in detail each item of the food, wine and beer menus their ingredients and flavours in order to describe to customers and make recommendations when asked
  • Remain vigilant and maintain high standards surrounding the age of young looking customers and ensure you obtain a valid proof of age card before to validate they are over 18 before serving alcohol (if applicable)
  • To manage all payment transactions with diligence, honesty and integrity and any discrepancies identified are escalated to the Line Manager immediately
  • To handle cash and keys responsibly

Bar & Front of House

  • Ensure that all front of house areas are clean and tidy at all times including toilets
  • Set up rooms/outside areas for events
  • Undertake general cleaning and housekeeping duties as required

Service Standards

  • To serve meals and drinks to customers
  • Capture and evaluate customer feedback taking relevant action when appropriate and share with other teams members to improve overall company standards
  • To take prompt action to resolve complaints, build positive relationships and maximise customer satisfaction

Health & Safety

  • To carry out all duties in accordance with company standards including health & safety and food hygiene regulations
  • Ensure a safe environment for staff and customers

General

  • To support all parts of the operation at peak times and to undertake any operational duty which might be reasonably required to ensure customer expectations are met
  • To ensure security, functionality and proper handling of company property
  • Complete record keeping and administrative tasks as required
